Sadly like many of the SAP press books this one being no exception a lot of words to explain a topic but really no detail. In this case I believe it is because translating a technical book is not an easy task without losing the context and meaning of a topic. I found myself rereading a paragraph over and over again to try and get to the point. I have no doubt the authors know their subject and its an important one but I understood the topic and in more detail in one section of "Next Generation ABAP development" then in this whole book. I was really looking for extensive details on persistent services from a book dedicated to it.
Some of the words translated just blew me away, who uses "Excursus" ? I know its a word but I don't know anywhere I have seen it used but the translate used it constantly for notes.
